The Balcony of the Mediterranean has a rich history dating back to the 14th century. At that time, a castle was built to protect the city from pirates. The castle was eventually destroyed in the 18th century, but the ruins remained. In the early 20th century, the site was transformed into a public viewpoint, and the Balcony of the Mediterranean was officially inaugurated in 1928.

The Balcony of the Mediterranean is open to the public year-round. However, the best time to visit is during the spring and fall months when the weather is mild and there are fewer crowds.

The Balcony of the Mediterranean offers stunning panoramic views of the city, the coastline, and the Mediterranean Sea. Visitors can also explore the ruins of the old castle and learn about Benidorm's history. Several restaurants and cafes are also in the area, where visitors can enjoy a meal or a drink while taking in the views. In the evening you can see the sun go down over Poniente Beach.
