Plans for Benidorm's long-awaited first major shopping center have finally been unveiled. The project, undertaken by Unibail-Rodamco, will boast an impressive 58,000 square meters of retail space.

Shopaholics rejoice! The center will house 121 stores, offering a diverse mix of shops, restaurants, cinemas, and even a hypermarket. Motorists will be well catered to with a massive 3,000-space parking complex, featuring a combination of underground levels, surface parking, and a designated sector area.
While an official opening date remains elusive, progress hinges on the construction of access roads. The municipality of Benidorm has stepped up to the plate, allocating an €18 million budget to connect the N-332 national road to the industrial and commercial area where the shopping center will reside. This investment will ensure smooth accessibility for visitors.
The municipality's commitment extends beyond funding. They've also spearheaded land acquisition, with most plots secured through amicable agreements with landowners, streamlining the expropriation process.
Discussions about this shopping center have been swirling for years. Initial plans surfaced in 2017, but progress stalled. A renewed push in 2020 also failed to materialize. Thankfully, 2024 seems to be the charm for Benidorm, marking the year construction on this landmark project is finally set to begin.
