When you visit the Balcon Mediterraneano in the Benidorm old town, you should definitely visit the small church very nearby, the "Iglesia de San Jaime y Santa Ana". The Church is located on the upper part of the old town on the hill called Canfali. It was built in the 18th century and has two blue domes in Mediterranean neoclassical style and a golden colored door.

In the church you can find a symbol that is very popular with the faithful of the region, the Virgen del Sufragio, patron saint of Benidorm. In her own side chapel in the church you can admire the small statue of Mary. Legend has it that it was found in 1740, when a crew abandoned sailing ship mysteriously carried the image to the beaches of Benidorm.

The church also has a very authentic interior with beautiful paintings and sculptures. It is a quiet place where you can easily unwind during your sometimes busy holiday in Benidorm. The church can be visited daily between 10 am and 6 pm. Note that opening times may change during certain periods.
